Department Ranked #2 in Research Productivity

In a recent study of research productivity that was published by the American Political Science Association ("Measuring the Research Productivity of Political Science Departments Using Google Scholar" by Michael Peress, SUNY-Stony Brook), the department of political science at Washington University was ranked #2—just behind Columbia University and just ahead of Stanford University.  The ranking was based on the citations to published work by our faculty and the quality of the outlets in which those publications appeared. A major reason for this is the remarkable performance of Professor James Gibson. The same study identified him as the top scholar in the entire discipline for research output in the most impactful and selective journals. Congratulations to Jim!
