Biographical:
Randall Calvert is the Thomas F. Eagleton University Professor of Public Affairs and Political Science. He received his Ph.D. from Caltech in 1980. He returned to WU (where he had been Associate Professor until 1987) in 1999 from the University of Rochester, where he served as Professor and Department Chair. His research and teaching lie in the areas of positive political theory, American political institutions, and constitutional politics. He is the author of Models of Imperfect Information in Politics (1986), and of journal articles in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, and elsewhere. Currently his research focuses on strategic processes of political communication and argument, and their application to American constitutional development.
