POLITICAL SCIENCE 3442

Introduction to the development and application of constitutional civil rights. Substantial emphasis on Supreme Court cases interpreting the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection clause. Specific topics include discrimination, remedial action, and voting rights. The focus is primarily on classifications based on race and gender, but we will also examine age, disability, and sexual orientation. Note: This course counts towards the undergraduate American Politics subfield.
