PhD candidate Rex Weiye Deng has been selected as a recipient of a highly competitive APSA Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant (DDRIG) from the American Political Science Association (APSA). According to the APSA website for the program, the DDRIG program "intends to award between twenty and twenty-five grants yearly of between $10,000 and $15,000 to support doctoral dissertation research that advances knowledge and understanding of citizenship, government, and politics." The grants are a part of an award from the National Science Foundation to the APSA, and are meant to "support basic research which is theoretically derived and empirically oriented."
