Taylor Carlson Awarded 2019 UCSD Dissertation Prize

Taylor Carlson, an Assistant Professor starting in the department Fall of 2019 was awarded a dissertation prize.

The prize, established in honor of Jean Fort, UCSD's longtime Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, is awarded annually to a PhD recipient of unusual intellectual breadth whose doctoral research has met the highest standards of academic excellence and may make a significant contribution on an issue of humanitarian or public concern.

The Graduate Division picked Taylor from the large pool of nominees across all disciplines because it was impressed with her exciting doctoral research and believes that the her dissertation will make an important contribution to her field.
