Tenure and promotion update in political science: Epstein, Boyd, Schnakenberg, Lucas, Pond and Betz

The Department of Political Science is proud to celebrate the following faculty who have received tenure and promotions:

  • Christina L. Boyd as a professor of law at the School of Law (tenure effective June 1), duly appointed with Political Science. Professor Boyd comes to us from the University of Georgia. 
  • Lee Epstein as a professor of political science in Arts & Sciences (effective July 1). Professor Epstein returns to WashU, having most recently held a faculty appointment at University of Southern California.
  • Keith Schnakenberg has been promoted to professor of political science in Arts & Sciences (effective July 1). Professor Schnakenberg came to the department in 2016, and was granted tenure as an associate professor in 2021.
  • Christopher D. Lucas has received tenure as associate professor of political science in Arts & Sciences (effective July 1). Professor Lucas came to the department in 2018.
  • Amy Pond received tenure as associate professor of political science in Arts & Sciences last fall as she joined the department.
  • Timm Betz received tenure as associate professor of political science in Arts & Sciences last fall as he joined the department.
