Professor Aksoy’s research is motivated by an interest in comparative political institutions and political violence.
Aksoy's current projects explore the influence of domestic political institutions, such as electoral institutions and political parties, on discontented groups’ incentives to use political violence. Her research has been published in journals such as American Journal of Political Science, World Politics, Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and British Journal of Political Science.
