This graduate seminar examines the dynamic interplay between technology and politics in the 21st century. As technological innovation accelerates, it both shapes and is shaped by political structures and processes. The course explores key areas where technology and politics intersect, analyzing their mutual influence and implications for governance, democracy, and social change. Topics may include artificial intelligence in governance, social media's impact on political discourse, the geopolitics of technological infrastructure, digital surveillance and civil liberties, content moderation and online censorship, cybersecurity and national defense, digital currencies and economic policy, the rise of technocracy, the digital divide, and the role of green tech in environmental politics.
