POLITICAL SCIENCE 330

This course examines race and gender in American politics scholarship. How have scholars of American politics conceptualized race and gender? What major debates animate this field? Has the drive to incorporate race and gender into the study of American politics found success? And how have race and gender scholars theorized about the intersection of racial and gender identities? Throughout the semester we will pay considerable attention to the ways that gender interacts with race/ethnicity and with political party. Note: This course counts towards the undergraduate Comparative OR International Politics subfield.
