A&S Teaching Innovation Showcase
Do you want a first look at the creative approaches that could change the way courses are taught in Arts & Sciences? The Teaching Innovation Showcase is an opportunity to hear from innovative A&S faculty who are transforming the classroom learning experience.
PoliSci's own Dan Butler and Jacob Montgomery will be presenting their teaching projects at the showcase.
Butler will present on his teaching project "The Poli-Sci LEGO Guy for WashU and Beyond", an effort to create LEGO stop-motion videos to engage undergraduate and high school students in the study of U.S. Government.
Montgomery will present on "The Teaching Multiplier Effect: Scaling Excellence in Data Science Education with AI", his project aimed at leveraging AI to give students more personalized support in large classes.
Expect quick & creative presentations from faculty along with refreshments and great conversation. After hearing from the finalists, the audience will vote to award a $1000 prize in each of the three categories below:
- Incorporating technologies to enrich learning experience and outcomes
- Integrating experiential elements that facilitate new skills development
- Course, project, assignment, or activity design relating to Literacies for Life and Career or to cross-departmental/transdisciplinary opportunities
