Professor Pond conducts research in the areas of international and comparative political economy.
She conducts research in international and comparative political economy. Her current research looks at how market concentration and international ownership affect domestic policies, including the provision of public goods like property rights and democratic representation. She has also worked on trade and financial liberalization and the broader logic of institutional change. She uses game theory and statistical analysis in her research.
Professor Pond received her PhD from the University of Michigan; her Masters from the University of Chicago; and her Bachelors from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to joining WashU, she taught at the Technical University of Munich and at Texas A&M University.
