Gary Miller received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976. He taught previously at California Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, and Washington University's John M. Olin School of Business. His primary substantive interest has been decision-making in bureaucracies, committees, and small groups. He has done a number of laboratory experiments testing hypotheses about group decision-making, derived from game theory and organizational economics. His teaching assignments include a graduate seminar in the politics of the U.S. bureaucracy, an undergraduate course on the civil rights movement, and an undergraduate course on the U.S. Presidency.
